All is forgiven

Yesterday,
I got a mail,
from my past.
She said,
hey, you!
Here is a window,
a tiny one, cracked open just enough
to glimpse the life you left.
Go ahead,
peep inside,
see what you have
been missing.

Yesterday,
my past reached out again.
She said,
here, take this tiny finger,
soft and familiar.
Hold on tight.
I will pull you
back,
into this world,
that you abandoned.

Yesterday,
I got a mail,
from my past.
She said,
that will be
enough.
Come back.
All
is forgiven.
Just
say sorry.
But I’ve lived in the shadows of that apology long enough.

Today,
I sent a mail,
to my past.
I said,
but how
can I?
I’ve grown in places you can’t see yet.
Thanks. But no thanks.
Warm regards,
A work-in-progress, shaping the future.
